In partnership with the Denver Regional Council of Governments and Mile High Connects, we co-directed the development of an interactive tool to raise awareness about the benefits and opportunities of a robust public transit network. Users have the ability to create maps that depict the region’s major origins and destinations in relation to the current and future transit network, and they can generate reports on demographics, economics and other regional data.
Our future transit network will better connect people to jobs, healthcare providers, schools and other essential destinations, but there are challenges to ensuring that the people who use public transportation have the opportunity to live and work in transit-oriented communities. The Atlas emphasizes the need to ensure access to public transportation for everyone in metro Denver, especially the region’s low-income residents.
Shift partners with social change organizations that are interested in using data to better serve their communities.
