Focus Points Family Resource Center has seen demographic shifts in the communities it serves, ultimately causing the nonprofit to consider moving its headquarter to a location where it can better meet families' needs. As part of this decision-making process, Focus Points asked Shift to conduct a local market scan of the Globeville Elyria Swansea (GES) neighborhoods. This scan helped Focus Points understand how rising housing costs have impacted the speed of gentrification and displacement in GES. With this information, Focus Points was able to make data-informed decisions regarding a new headquarter location that would allow it to most effectively meet its target clientele.
Using Shift's market scan to be more responsive to demographic shifts in the GES neighborhoods, Focus Points is able to make programmatic changes that allow them to better serve low-income families.
