We developed a site selection tool to assist the Denver Regional Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Fund in locating affordable housing in the transit corridors. The TOD Fund was established by the Urban Land Conservancy, Enterprise Community Partners, the City & County of Denver and several other investors to support the creation and preservation of more than 1,000 affordable housing units through strategic property acquisition in current and future transit corridors. A publicly available version of the tool will be coming soon.
Locating housing in transit corridors allows households to reduce expenses, while increasing access to employment, educational opportunities and needed services. It is essential that affordable housing near public transit in the Denver is preserved and developed to ensure long-term affordability and access for low-income residents.
