The Early Care and Education Map leverages neighborhood data from Denver’s seven-county metro region to show where quality, licensed early childhood resources are located relative to where young children live. Shift sees great potential for this tool to serve as a more comprehensive early childhood data resource and we look forward to partnering with the early childhood community on its continued expansion, including adding additional data as it becomes available and potentially expanding its geographic reach to the rest of the state.
This is a helpful tool for our advocacy work that gives us the data and visualizations we need to make the case for quality early childcare to policymakers. Having Shift lead the development process with significant stakeholder engagement and input helped create a tool that I can truly utilize in my work.
