Technical Assistance: STRIVE Prep Student Enrollment Analysis

ABOUT

As a service to the metro Denver community, Shift helps nonprofits, governments, and social change organizations build their capacity to use data by providing free technical assistance, such as mapping analysis, data visualization and sense-making support. As part of this service, we recently performed a student enrollment analysis for STRIVE Prep, a Denver-based community of free, open enrollment, public charter schools.

This enrollment analysis provides insight into which districts are experiencing an increase in school-aged children and what the school enrollment changes look like for both non-white and free and reduced lunch (FRL) populations. To learn more, download the below report, which includes the full analysis, key findings and data visualizations.

Due to changing demographics, declining enrollment and increasing displacement in the communities we serve, we have found few opportunities to start serving students in elementary school. We engaged with Shift to look at patterns of where families are moving and to see if there are other strategies we might employ to fully build out our elementary school model.
